If you've just landed a new job as a mortgage broker in Calgary or Boston you're not expected to be a perfect employee right of the bat. The beginning stages of your employment with any company is viewed as a test run. Your employer monitors your work performance to see how you handle your job duties and you get to use the first few months at your new job to see if it's something you would like to do long term.
The usual employee evaluation is done within the first three months, whether your new job is as a horse fence quality assurance technician or computer repair technician. Three months is deemed a long enough time to determine where your future with the company lies. At that point in time your employer will give you a job performance review to assess how you've been handling your workload.
Job performance reviews are also known as employee appraisals. An employee appraisal will alert you to the areas where your employers feel you aren't meeting expectations, what areas you're excelling in, and how you get along with your real estate agents Toronto or Boston co-workers, amongst other things.
If your employer tells you during your employee appraisal that there are areas of your work that need improving you have the opportunity to ask how you can improve your job performance. Employee appraisals are a time to get everything out in the open and ask questions. The point of an employee appraisal is to give you a chance to do better at your Boston or Newark limo driving job.
So don't leave your meeting dejected if your boss tells you that you haven't been doing a good enough job. Take the moment to realize that you need to do better and if you like your job and want to stay at your current place of employment for a long time that you need to try harder. After all, you're not going to be a model of consistency at your job after only a few months.
It takes some time to acquaint yourself to a new job. You have to use your skills to navigate yourself in an environment that you are new to and that doesn't happen overnight. If you were hired on to be a cell phone tracker customer service representative and didn't have experience in the field you were probably hired for other reasons.
Just keep showing up to work on time, do your job, and make an effort to improve in the areas your employer feels you haven't been doing an adequate enough job in. If you do that your work performance should continue to improve and your next employee appraisal should be a more positive one. |
